Tyler Labine è nato a Brampton, Ontario, Canada. Quando era ancora piccolo si trasferì con i genitori a Vancouver, British Columbia, e fu qui che, 16 anni fa, inizio la sua carriera di attore in una produzione teatrale locale. Labine ha avuto piccolo ruoli in varie serie televisive e film per la tv, fino ad ottenere uno dei ruoli principali nel serial “Breaker High”. Da qui inizia a lavorare a film importanti come “Trixie” di Robert Altman, “Marine Life,” con Cybill Shepherd e “Antitrust” con Tim Robbins. Ha avuto anche l’occasione di lavorare al fianco del musicista David Bowie nel film “Mr. Rice’s Secret.”
La reputazione di Tyler andò aumentando (assieme al numero dei suoi fans) quando ottenne il ruolo di Scotty nella serie “Dead Last.” Ha anche recitato nel serial della ABC “That Was Then.” Ha di recente completato le riprese del film “Flyboys” diretto da Tony Bill e che tratta dello scoppio della prima Guerra mondiale. Labine ha inoltre partecipato alle selezioni per interpretare il ruolo di John Belushi nel film per la TV “Behind the Camera: The Unauthorized story of ‘Mork & Mindy,’”. E prossimamente potremmo vederlo in “Letters” assieme a Ewen Bremner.
Durante il tempo libero, l’attore, che vive a Los Angeles, porta avanti un progetto musicale assieme col fratello e il migliore amico, il gruppo hip hop Figures of Speech. Labine è un talentuoso DJ e Speaker. La band registra e prova nel loro studio domestico. Essendo un patito di snowbord, Labine ricorre spesso nella gare al Whistler/Blackcomb e gli piace passare il tempo libero con la sua famiglia nel suo cottage in Ontario.
