William Edward “Bill” Fichtner nasce ad East Meadow, Stato di New York, è un attore americano. E’ di solito accreditato com William Fichtner e occasionalmente come Bill Fichtner.
Dopo la laurea triennale alla State University di New York a Brockport in criminologia nel 1978, Fichtner ha deciso di studiare all’Accademia Americana di Arte Drammatica a New York. Ha iniziato la sua carriera di attore con il personaggio di John Snyder in As the World Turns nel 1987.
Le partecipazioni di Fichtner includono film come Contact, Heat, Armageddon, Go, Equilibrium, Black Hawk Down e Crash. E’ soprattutto famoso come attore caratterista, in ruoli di supporto. Accreditato come Bill Fichtner ha prestato la sua voce al personaggio di Ken Rosemberg nel popolare video gioco Grand Theft Auto: Vice City e Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Dal 2005 al 2006 Fichtner ha partecipato alla serie drammatica-scientifica Invasion, intepretando lo Sceriffo Tom Underlay. Dopo che Invasion è stato cancellato, Fichtner è stato scelto per interpretare l’Agente Alexander Mahone nella seconda stagione (2006-2007) di Prison Break, nello stesso anno ha presentato un premio al gran galà della Lega Nazionale di Hockey.
